The Juvenile Transition Center, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit Florida Corporation headquartered in the City of Boynton Beach. This community-based agency was established in 1997 in an effort to eradicate at-risk behavior and economic deprivation among youth from a proactive approach.
Despite our name, the Juvenile Transition Center, we are not an agency that serves troubled youth. Our mission is to assist interested students as they navigate through the process of becoming eligible for College admissions.
The Juvenile Transition Center endeavors to equip program youth with the proper strategies necessary to make sound judgment and prudent decisions. Consequently, through a collaboration with the Palm beach County Community Services Department and the City of Boynton Beach, the Juvenile Transition Center's staff currently provides a highly structured year-round program to youth ages 13-18 through a program called Encouraging Students Through Education, Employment & Mentoring (ESTEEM). The comprehensive ESTEEM program provides:
- Tutoring
- Homework Assistance
- Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test(FCAT) practice sessions
- Employability Skills
- Cultural Field Trips
- College/University Experiences
- Monetary Incentives
- Pro-social guidance
- and community involvement.
All of which, are essential features designed to generate behaviors characterized by productive contributing members of society.
